Abstract: Air pollution is an environmental problem that threatens major cities in Indonesia, especially from vehicle emissions. This study aimed to analyse the strategy of motor vehicle emission pollution control in Makassar using interpretative structural modelling (ISM) method. This method uses expert judgement in making data. The results showed that the sub-element of fuel efficiency (E7) located at sector 4 (independent) is a key element which is highly influential in controlling air pollution from vehicle emissions. It is driver power aspect in the air pollution control of emission with low level of dependence to other sub-elements. Limitations of government funding are key elements that influence the air pollution control of emission which became constraints, whereas the role of key actors are the local government.
