Abstract: Climate change is expected to have an operational and financial impact on the global aviation network. This paper builds on earlier work in the field from EUROCONTROL, the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation, to further clarify the expected impacts and how they might be mitigated. It draws on the results of a consultation with European aviation stakeholders to begin to identify in-sector barriers to effective climate adaptation and how they might be addressed before concluding with a set of practical recommendations to develop European aviation's resilience to the potential impacts of climate change.
