Abstract: In this paper, a distributed fault-tolerance consensus filtering problem for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) with communication failure is investigated. A new type of distributed fault tolerance consensus filter is designed, where each sensor can communicate with the neighbouring sensors, and filtering can be performed in a distributed coordinated function. Because the sensor networks may be disturbed by loss of transmitting effectiveness, the performance of sensor network will be degraded by using the faulted signals. Under the unknown assumption for the failures, adaptive laws are proposed to estimate the failures factors. Then based on the information of adaptive schemes, a distributed fault-tolerance consensus filter scheme is designed to guarantee that all sensors asymptotically trace the target in the presence of the uncertain faults. Simulation results are given to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the designed distributed fault-tolerance consensus filter.
