Abstract: In this study, the erosion resistance property of WC-Co coatings comparing with cast iron, 42CrMo4 steel and aluminium alloy was investigated. The abrasive slurry wear method was used for erosion wear experiments. The experimental results showed that the aluminium alloys with WC-Co coatings had the best erosion resistance ability among the four materials. According to the analysis results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs, the excellent erosion resistance ability of WC coating was caused by the high strength of WC grains.
