Abstract: A generalised vehicle model is presented that allows characterisation of pitch-plane ride dynamics for a vehicle with an arbitrary number of axles. This model is used to determine suspension stiffnesses that satisfy the well-known Olley ride criteria for a vehicle with three or more axles.
