Abstract: This paper aims to contribute to the discussion about the jurisdiction of Australian courts in the context of international or transnational defamation. The paper questions the appropriateness of the rules informing in personam jurisdiction of Federal, State and Territory Courts in Australia, drawing on recent case law, legislative developments and existing literature.
