Abstract: The research aims to identify IT teams' motivational levels. It characterises the influence of humanist philosophy in the leadership posture in information technology project management, and also identifies the motivational level of managers and teams in information technology projects. The methodology implemented is a descriptive exploratory one through a survey conducted by means of a closed-end questionnaire. Data analysis demonstrates the result of the field research that the humanistic approach not only influences the formulation of human values, but also contributes to individual's self-knowledge and self-improvement and to the improvement of organisational environment. There is partial agreement that both managers and teams have motivation in executing projects in information technology.
