Abstract: This study focuses on the roadblocks in adapting the concept of social enterprise to strengthen teaching and learning at the upper secondary school level for Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. This examination is part of the ongoing reforms in education in Thailand. One of the reforms aims to increase the level of curriculum flexibility and openness to external participation from entities such as private firms and non-governmental organisations. One specific school is extensively examined through interviews with the school director, instructor and students. The overall findings from the study highlight the possibility to involve the private sector in adapting the social enterprise concept in order to enhance educational quality. Specific examples for improvement interventions are demonstrated.
