Abstract: In many applications, wireless sensor networks are deployed in open environment; the sensor nodes are vulnerable to be captured by the adversary, the adversary can replicate captured sensors and deploy them in the network again, and these replicated nodes can be used to launch many attacks. Thus, it is very necessary to design an efficient detection method of replicated nodes to locate replicated nodes and remove them from the network. In this paper, using the orthogonal code, a tree-based detection scheme of node replication attack (TDS) is proposed. Comparing with most existing detection schemes, the TDS does not need the support of witnesses, and does not have the problem of node location exposed. The security analysis shows that the TDS can against the replicated nodes do not participate in detection procedures and drop the detection message. Performance analysis and simulations demonstrate that the TDS is more efficient than existing schemes.
