Abstract: In 2011, the representatives of the ArRiyadh Development Agency (ADA) issued a request to identify the causes behind traffic safety problems of young male drivers in ArRiyadh (females are not allowed to drive a car in Saudi Arabia). On the basis of this survey, counter-measures should be developed. In December 2011, a working plan was developed and co-workers were trained for the task. The data collection process was launched in March 2012. The collected data were put together, verbal comments (translated into English) were included, and the whole file was sent to Vienna for evaluation. In May 2012, the results were presented at workshops for stakeholders, decision makers and traffic experts. There, potential measures for the solution of existing problems were discussed. The whole process of project preparation, project work, results and conclusions was documented in a number of reports. A synopsis in English and an expertise in German were drafted.
