Abstract: The Indonesian central government has devised a Master Plan for Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia's Economic Development (MP3EI) 2011 to 2025 in order to promote the country's economic growth and development in an equitable, orderly and sustained manner. Following the classification of economic corridors adopted by the MP3EI, this paper undertakes a regional competitiveness analysis to examine the patterns and trends in competitiveness across regions in Indonesia. This paper also sheds light on the extent to which regional disparities exist in the context of competitiveness and assesses how the lagging regions can improve their relative competitiveness vis-à-vis the rest of Indonesia.
