Service-oriented computing continues to design and develop software components with systematical and effective deployment of services. SOA-based web services continue to perforate enterprise systems to enable effective integration with business partners. Yet, does the current concept of e-service suffice and indeed encapsulate these current developments? In this essay, a perspective of service is put forth for an economic world and an electronic world. Continuous development towards collaborative e-service with multiple clients is needed.
