Abstract: In this paper, I reflect upon my personal experience using five-minute letters to assess students' personal development. I propose a variant of the technique to reduce bias in the students' feedback process, and provide recommendations on how to combine it with auxiliary assessment techniques to improve the students' overall learning experience.
