Abstract: Religion is the fundamental basis of the cultural system prevailing in India. It is crucial because it promotes social camaraderie and strengthens social norms and belief. Although many economist and social scientist have been arguing about the impact of religion and culture on the economic development, still there exists a huge gap in proving the influence of religiosity and culture on individual's economic behaviour. In the present paper, we have examined the influence of religion and culture among 20 Jain entrepreneurs and professionals in Western India and it primarily highlights the role of religion and culture in the evolution of Jains as a prosperous business community, along with their present status and future aspirations.
