Abstract: Although it is important to test oil in the transformers, it is more important to know how to interpret the data from the results. No single test can be used independently to determine the oil condition. Rather, all the results should be reviewed simultaneously to give a full understanding about what is occurring in both the oil and the transformer. Machine interference is a significant problem in many manufacturing system and testing equipments. In case of transformer oil testing laboratory, the plant layout and surrounding environment affects the performance of the system. The machine interference comes under variable cause which may affect the result. This paper, proposes a methodology for constructing system performance measures using control charts approach. The study is based on testing performance of transformer oil used in thermal power station and transformers used in India.
