Abstract: This paper analyses the exergy of air in the building affected by the reference state, considering parameters of temperature and humidity of air. Taking TMY data of 25 typical cities in different building thermal climate zones of China and considering the chemical and physical exergy of air, the exergy of air in the building influenced by the dynamic and static reference state is comparatively analysed. The results showed that for those buildings that need cooling of air in summer, the chemical contribution should be paid attention to. It is acceptable to consider a static reference environment only, instead of a dynamic reference environment, for calculating the exergy value of air in buildings for heating period.
