Abstract: The case examines the corporate role in women empowerment in community development. The inclusion of women workforce has become increasingly important for fastest growing economies like India. Second career internship programme (SCIP) is one of the initiatives by Tata Group of companies in India. Indian women need financial support, therefore this study helps us illustrate how women's talent can provide economic opportunities. The case also shed lights on the initiative as a new channel of recruitment to tap the latent potential and identifies challenges involved in execution of such projects.
