Abstract: A control strategy is suggested for converging harmonics with hybrid filter. The hybrid power filter is constituted by a series active filter and shunt passive filter. The control algorithm works on dual formulation of electric power vectorial theory. Without depending on the system impedance, the active filter improves the compensation characteristic of the shunt passive filter and eliminates the series/shunt resonance problem, the voltage waveform injected by the active series filter is able to compensate for reactive power, eliminates harmonics in load current and balances asymmetrical load.
