Abstract: How do companies achieve market-oriented logistics at reasonable cost? The answer, says the author, is to link divisions, departments and functions to the flow of information and goods. The prerequisite for controlling and directing this flow is effective information management. Increasingly, this means that processes and even structural organisation must be constantly re-evaluated.
