Abstract: The aim of this study is to develop a structural model to examine the relationship between the six key practices of TQM (i.e., leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, human resource management, process management and information and analysis) and organisational performance of family owned businesses. To develop the proposed model, the theory of TQM and organisational performance was extensively discussed. This research will ascertain practices valuable to the managers who seek to improve organisational performance through effective adoptions of TQM principles. The proposed structural model provides new viewpoint for practitioners and scholars to investigate such relationship.
