Abstract: B-schools have knowledge management (KM) requirements centred on human resource, intellectual capital, policies, procedures, academic content, collaboration and external sources. The authors have attempted to address these requirements by proposing a model to capture, store and disseminate the knowledge through a knowledge portal (KP). The architecture supports KP user to view, participate and manage the content through the applications running at the servers. The proposed architecture provides B-schools a viable means to create the KM system that is destined to evolve as their institutional learning system and support the growth of the institute. The KP architecture has harnessed the web 2.0 tools and the open source software available for content management and e-learning systems to achieve the effective functioning of KP.
