Abstract: In this study the effects of various structure directing agents on the size, morphology, chemical structure and electronic properties of various (Nano Structured Polyaniline) NSPANI were investigated. A number of chemical synthesis of NSPANI were carried out using various Structure Directing Agents (SDA) like Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate (SDS), Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulphonate (SDBS) and Camphor Sulphonic Acid (CSA). The resulting NSPANI were characterised by UV-Visible spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and I-V characteristics. Smallest spherical polyaniline nanoparticles are formed when SDBS is used as SDA as well as dopant. When CSA is used as a dopant, the particle size increases but the morphology of the NSPANI changes from fibrous to spherical.
