Abstract: This paper identifies events that are committed to using history and cultural heritage as elements for promoting tourism of Catalan towns and cities. During the last 20 years, these events have become consolidated as fun and festive tourist activities. The paper reviews the current role and trend of new media in the promotion and development of Catalan cultural heritage and which technologies could be applied to theses reenactment cultural events.
