Abstract: This research aims to analyse the role of regional knowledge intermediaries in sectoral innovation system. Particularly, a service approach of innovation platform, namely, the innovation intensity services (IIS), is constructed as an analytical model to explain the business operation of knowledge intermediaries and their interaction with knowledge clusters in sectoral innovation system. In this model, the concepts of industrial environment and technological system were adopted to represent the building blocks of sectoral innovation system. Accordingly, the correlation between the firm-level operational resources of knowledge intermediaries and industrial environment as well as technological system, would be constructed to discuss the necessary support of sectoral innovation system for fostering the development of knowledge intermediaries. An empirical Taiwan|s case of technology transfer centre in ITRI was also used in this study to demonstrate the validity of the analytical framework.
