Abstract: This paper presents numerical solution of advection-diffusion equation (ADE) using B-spline finite element method. The one dimensional ADE describes many quantities such as vorticity, heat, mass, energy, velocity etc. Test example shows the accuracy of the numerical technique where different comparisons are made for the exact and approximate solution obtained. Numerical results are found to be in good agreement with the analytical results.
