Abstract: A procedure has been developed for the integrity assessment of highly stressed components, such as turbine wheels and rotors, on the basis of a linear elastic fracture mechanics approach. Classification of cracks, analysis of complex configurations of cracks and material testing in static and fatigue conditions represent the steps considered in the present analysis. A computer program was finally developed.
