Abstract: This paper presents the experimental results of compressive tests carried out on Portland cement concrete structural elements reinforced with fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) rods. The specimens had a square cross section of 100mm, and heights of 800 and 1600mm. The concrete cornpressive strengths were 20 and 40 MPa. Test results were compared to theoretical values so that the potential use of FRP rods can be assessed.
