Abstract: This paper addresses the proposed development of a new generation of new nuclear power stations in England and Wales. It explains the genesis of this nuclear renaissance and explores the legal changes which have been instituted to facilitate that programme. It explores some of the areas of likely legal controversy and conflict, for example in relation to how the wastes from new power stations will be managed.
