Abstract: The knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) sector|s contribution to India|s economy over the past few years has been appreciable and undeniably due to its robust set of extremely talented workforce. Human resource initiatives favourable to this workforce, therefore, become vital catalysts to its success and incorporating employee opinion on these a worthwhile investment. Literature lacks studies on employee opinion on human resource practices in KPOs and this article is perhaps one of the first few which analyses such opinion in the context of Indian KPOs. The study uses a structured questionnaire containing 54 pairs of importance-satisfaction items on select human resource practices and deploys importance-performance analysis as importance-satisfaction analysis. Career planning and development emerged as the top employee priority area demanding thoughtful analysis and consideration. The study offers valuable insights about employee perceptions and aspirations which should be useful to policy makers of KPOs in developing effective future strategies.
