Abstract: We have described an internet based system combining remote patient monitoring and medical social networking. Due to new technological advances, it is now possible to design and implement various types of remote patient monitoring systems. A remote patient monitoring system can lead to a new type of social networking of patients. The patients can share their experiences and they can allow not only doctors but also other patients to see their medical state. Social support can increase the degree to which individuals succeed in achieving their medical goals.
