Abstract: This paper discusses the importance of the field of time series analysis in engineering practice. Several important implications for Continuing Engineering Education are obtained, and three courses are presented to fill the gap between the present knowledge of time-series models among most engineers and the needs of their professional work. It is concluded that the study of time series should be incorporated into the engineering curriculum.
