Worldwide studies relating to the educational level of learners (and teachers) make such deliberations necessary, since no country wants to find itself listed at the bottom of educational rankings, which are often widely disseminated. This introductory paper discusses the broad issue of innovation in education and the concept of |diversity| within it

Keywords: educational innovation; innovation in education; educational diversity; teaching; learning.
