Abstract: The paper is focused on DSP-based drive design of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) and its application to electric injection moulding machines. An in-parallel interlaced sample-and-hold structure is proposed to improve accuracy of low-velocity computing due to low-resolution encoders. The simple but effective PI control whose gains are individually tuned by Bode diagram and an extension of frequency zone-based method is employed for compatibility with conventional ones. Pressure drop at the v/p transfer point in injection process is overcome by adaptive fuzzy control. Finally, an emulation system including PMSM coupled by a lead screw validates the proposed algorithms.
