The accessibility to one common market in a borderless economy will awaken an era of mega-competition. The emerging trend of technology strategy of companies in the borderless economy is to strengthen the competitiveness in the core business fields and create new high-tech industries to ensure future development. The new high-tech industries likely to prosper in the future include electronics, computer and information industries on a short-term basis, and superconductivity technology and biotechnology which will contribute to the solution of energy and environmental problems on a mid- to long-term basis.
