Abstract: This paper applies intellectual capital analysis to a football club|s organisational identity and performance. Through the application of a holistic approach to the organisational analysis of a football club, we build an intellectual capital map of its value-creating intangible resources, such as player talent, fan base, club athletic performance and so forth. Proceeding beyond the quantifying norms of accounting standards on the intangibles, we construct the Football Organisation Nexus Index (FOrNeX), a decision-making instrument based on a multidimensional approach to a football club|s organisational performance.

Keywords: Football Organisation Nexus Index; FOrNeX; intellectual capital; football management; value creation; intangible assets; player talent; fan base; club athletic performance; football clubs; soccer; decision making; organisational performance.
