Abstract: This paper attempts to provide a comprehensive study of the signal transmission in Linear Multi-state Consecutively-Connected System (LMCCS) considering the effect of noise. Evolutionary algorithms often have to solve optimisation problems in the presence of a wide range of uncertainties. In the proposed genetic model, reliability optimisation is attempted in LMCCS by allocating multistate elements (ME) in various workstations by considering the adverse effects of noise in signal transmission. For the reliability evaluation, Universal Generating Function (UFG) technique is used. The optimal allocation is obtained by means of Genetic Algorithm (GA).
