Abstract: Accessing a hospital through the Emergency Department (ED) has become a subject of study for many researchers involved in pricing and resource allocation in healthcare. The research developed in this paper aims to measure the performance of the ED at Sfax Hospital as perceived by its patients. In the methodology, Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (TFNs) were introduced in the conventional Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in order to address the imprecise judgements. The results indicate that in order to maximise the patients| satisfaction and perceptions of value, it is crucial to optimise the use of particular human resources.
