Abstract: This paper aims to deliver a comprehensive understanding on case study research and a framework called |EBM-REP| for knowledge integration. Despite the merits like |theory building on how and why basis|, case study methodology discourages the researchers for its inability to establish theoretical territory. The proposed conceptualisation can be seen as an attempt towards deepening the understanding in case research on a |systems| perspective| (Senge, 1994) by breaking a situation into salient components, analysing them and integrating the results to provide new insights.

Keywords: case study research; interpretive management research; qualitative research; systems thinking; knowledge integration.
