Abstract: Health and medical knowledge are essential to the resolution of disputes in law and administrative applications (such as workers| compensation) and provide essential input into public policy decisions. We have worked to develop a framework for applying the knowledge of health and medicine in law and dispute resolution similar to the highly influential concepts of ||critical appraisal|| and ||evidence-based medicine|| which have transformed medical practice. We call this emerging approach ||evidence-based medical dispute resolution|| (EBMDR). Evidence-based medical dispute resolution is a systematic approach to evaluating scientific evidence in a particular context, that of law, adjudication and public policy.
Keywords: evidence-based medical dispute resolution; law; evidence-based medicine; evidence evaluation; scientific evidence; litigation; adjudication; public policy.
