Abstract: This paper firstly introduces the APICS Body of Knowledge (APICS BOK) and APICS CPIM certification. By comparing the APICS BOK and the Industrial Engineering Body of Knowledge (IE BOK), we find that there are both overlapping and complementing areas between those two BOKs. We note that IE education and application have been well introduced and developed in China. Based on the analysis of APICS history in China and the comparison between APICS BOK and IE BOK, we provide a conjecture for the developments of APICS BOK and APICS CPIM certification in China.
