Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to give an overview of utilisation of paper clay, or paper sludge, in Northeastern USA. This paper will outline typical landfill cover practices, overview the paper-making process, discuss the waste generated by the paper industry, and discuss the beneficial uses of paper clays.
