Abstract: The aim of the work is to study absorption refrigeration cycle so that low temperature heat sources can be utilised for producing refrigeration. A dual cycle, which is a combination of two separate AAR cycles, is simulated, where the evaporator of the first cycle is coupled with the condenser or absorber of the second cycle. Such a dual cycle enables utilisation of low temperature heat source. Optimisation of the dual cycle was performed on the basis of COP and ECOP. Results reveal that a dual cycle with condenser-vaporator combination gives higher overall COP than a dual cycle with absorber-evaporator combination.
