Abstract: Before commercial pyrolysis units are launched, it is convenient to test them in the laboratory conditions. However, some of the laboratory measurement procedures may be time consuming. This article deals with the choice of a suitable system and implementation of methods for online measurements of weight loss - macro TGA in a laboratory pyrolysis unit. When choosing a suitable measurement system, the priorities were accuracy, replicability, simplicity, possibility of its implementation into the existing equipment, and economy of all adjustments. To specify the choice of the weight loss measurement method, the article also describes the unit and the testing procedure. For testing of adjusted unit, the pyrolysis experiments with biomass pellets were conducted. The results measured by designed weighing system and by laboratory balance shown the negligible difference.
