Title: Analysis of personality model using the big five theory to enhance academic motivation of Garut University students

Abstract: The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between the personality model and students' academic motivation at the University of Garut. The personality model in this research refers to the big five personality model. The personality model consists of five dimensions that are extraversion, openness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and agreeableness. While the academic motivation in question is encouragement, cause, or reason of a student doing the learning. This research uses questionnaires divided into two parts, namely, the personality measuring instrument consisting of 35-point statements, and the academic motivation instrument consisting of 10-item statements. The number of respondents was 40 students. The results of this study indicate that the personality model and motivation have a relationship. Among the five personality models, it was found that conscientiousness is a personality model that is significantly related to students' academic motivation.
