Abstract: This article concentrates on a subjective quality assessment with MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and MPEG-4 part 10 coded in middle resolution video signals from low to high bit rate. The used method of subjective quality assessment is SDSCE, which is also introduced. The focus was on MPEG-4 part 10 encoded sequences with bit rates ranging from 0.5 through 5Mbit/s. We made the assessments under optimum conditions. Objective methods, are at the time, not good enough to determine the quality of a video sequences.
