Abstract: Triangular silver nanoplates (TSPs) were synthesised by photochemical method. Manufacturing process includes two steps: (i) firstly, silver nanoparticles with 8-10 nm diameters were synthesised by reducing silver nitrate with sodium borohydride, (ii) secondly, these nanoparticles were irradiated by green light emission diodes (LEDs, 520 ± 20 nm, 20 W) at different times (6, 12, 18, 24, 48 and 72 h) to form TSPs. The results of the analysis from UV-Vis, FE-SEM and TEM showed that the quantity of TSPs was directly proportional to reaction time and the edge lengths of TSPs were 80-100 nm at 48 h. The surfaces of TSPs were functionalised with 3-mercaptopropionic acid and conjugated with anti-clenbuterol antibodies, using N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) and 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-carbodiimide (EDC) coupling chemistry for biosensor applications.
