International Journal of Low Radiation (IJLR), Vol. 2, No. 3/4, 2006

Abstract: The present paper applies economic, mathematical, systemic, organisational, and technical principles to develop the automated registries. The obligatory application of effective directive materials and information technology standards is underlined. Every medical statistics study has to take into account the important issues of data acquisition, verification, storage, and processing. All these requirements are addressed in a correctly developed automated registry. At the beginning of any registry design, its goal has to be formulated, which will determine the subsequent direction of the study. The final goal has to be feasible and phased into the registry development process. The goal can be revised, when developing the registry. The registry design principles are subdivided into three groups as follows: economic and mathematical principles; systemic principles; organisational and technical principles.
