Abstract: The study examines the relationship between incremental and radical innovation of selected Indian entrepreneurial firms in the manufacturing sector. A unique positive relationship exists between incremental and radical innovation but there is still paucity of research in the Indian context. In light of increased importance and serious theoretical lacking the phenomenon of 'innovation' deserves intensive and extensive research attention. The study investigated the relation between radical innovation (product and market innovativeness) and incremental innovation (procedures, structures, process, people). For the purpose of the study a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods (mixed methodology) was used in order to understand this phenomenon. The results showed that incremental and radical innovation have a significant positive co-relation. The qualitative analysis gives a clear picture of the areas in which incremental innovation takes place in the firm and how it affects radical innovation. The study suggests capturing innovation in both incremental and radical perspectives.
