Abstract: Learning is important for all students, including engineering. To engineering students, an advanced learning mode is constructed using constructivist approach. First, the basic connotation of constructivism and self-learning are analysed. Second, the principles of online self-learning platform from the perspective of constructivism are established. Third, the construction strategies of network autonomous learning platform based on constructivism theory are summarised. Finally, the learning effect of online self-learning platform is evaluated based on weight optimisation method and grey relational analysis using four specialised courses as examples, and the online self-learning platform has good capacity for improving the self-learning effect of engineering college students according to the evaluation results.
