Early evaluation of product properties for individualised products

Abstract: In this contribution, we present a methodology for testing and evaluating product spectra and individual products within the strategy of mass customisation. The focus is on design and development. Especially in complex mechatronical products, the price and the delivery time are excitement or performance attributes, whereas basic requirements, such as quality or function, still have to be guaranteed. Since the mutual dependencies in an adaptable product spectrum represent a very complex network, individualisation by customers leads to far reaching modifications in the product structure. Concerning delivery time, a methodology of early evaluation has to be adapted.
